National Voter Registration Day, celebrated this year on September 17, is a vital nonpartisan civic holiday dedicated to promoting voter participation in our democracy. Here in Oregon, we are proud of our strong commitment to ensuring every eligible citizen has the opportunity to register, vote, and make their voice heard. This year, we took a significant step by submitting a proclamation letter to Governor Tina Kotek, who has officially approved and signed it, along with Secretary of State LaVonne Griffin-Valade, affirming the importance of this day.
The League of Women Voters of Oregon urges all Oregonians to visit oregonvotes.gov to ensure their voter registration is accurate and to assist others in doing the same. Together, we can continue to safeguard and strengthen this essential constitutional right.
