Students across Oregon have cast their votes

Oregon’s youth have spoken! Thousands of votes were cast in the 2016 Oregon Student Mock Election, with 31 new schools participating. Teachers enjoyed new resources this year, including customizable online ballots. Thanks to all who participated in this year’s Mock Election!

Democratic candidate for president, Hillary Clinton, received over 60 percent of the student votes, while her main challenger, Republican Donald Trump, received 21.2 percent. The remaining 17 percent was split among write-in and third party candidates. Candidate Jill Stein of the Green Party won the third most votes, with just over 8 percent. Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson followed Stein with 5.7 percent of the vote.
