Campaign Finance Reform
In the 2019 Legislative Session, the legislature secured big campaign finance reform wins, increasing transparency and increasing access for voters. While these wins were significant, Oregon remains one of five states without campaign contribution limits.
We’re thrilled to announce a series of 7 forums across Oregon in September, to hear how Oregonians want their campaign finance system to work. The League believes getting big monied interest out of politics is critical to ensuring the health of our democracy.
The forums will begin with a presentation by election policy experts who will present the history and political dynamics of campaign finance reform in Oregon. The presentation will be followed by an overview of recently-passed campaign finance reform legislation. Forums will conclude with a community discussion on various campaign finance limit goals and proposals, so legislators know how we want our campaign finance system to work.
The League is excited to support efforts to pass what would be historic Oregon policy. Please contact the forums’ organizer, Representative Dan Rayfield, for further information.
